Re: Everton Points Deduction
Everton don't move into their new gaff till the start of the 2025/26 season so this talk of them getting treated favourably to save them playing to a half full brand new stadium is nonsense.

Re: Everton Points Deduction
Clearly somebody's fed a supercomputer with a vast amount of data and it's declared that the most revenue-positive outcome for the PL (read media) is for Everton to remain in the PL at the expense of any of the other potential relegation candidates.

I fucking hope we take 3 of those restored points back with us to EAST London next weekend.

Re: Everton Points Deduction
Can guarantee if that was us they'd have added another 10 points on to the deduction.

The authorities will need to be seen to be doing something but rest assured they will do everything in their power, be it dodgy decisions or giving points back to ensure EFC remain in the PL with their new stadium.

I hate Liverpool a lot more, vile club, but these lot aint far behind. Maybe I just hate scousers

I got an STD off of some bird from Liverpool in Ibiza in 1996

Probably fair. As long as Citeh are dropped a few levels, that works for me.

You might have sympathy if they were over for 2 years and tried to rectify things in year 3 by selling a bunch of players.
Think thats what Leicester did and that third season saw them relegated
Havent looked at the numbers but dont think Everton made an attempt to do that
Think part of their excuse was that Spurs bent them over by squeezing the Richarlison price. BAD LUCK

Compared to Luton they are. Got a big new stadium that needs to be filled and seen on tv

Re: Everton Points Deduction
Mad Dog to be fair I'm not sure Everton can be classified as a big team these days and yes they always seem to scrape their way out of the relation places, never liked them

Re: Everton Points Deduction
Oh look. Big team gets points back when they look in danger.

Look how that's worked out for everyone.

Re: Everton Points Deduction
maybe.

i'm sure they would argue that it's a rolling 3 year view and 2 of those years were already in the books so they're (kind of) being punished for the 3rd year.

personally i think they will be punished to a point that puts others off but isn't enough to relegate them.

Re: Everton Points Deduction
Surely their 2nd charge has to be a greater punishment if they were warned that they were in breach?

goose 7:26 Mon Feb 26
Re: Everton Points Deduction
of course the second punishment will be 4 points so they end up with 10 anyway.

the powers that be really should have made the punishment clear so everyone knew the consequences. there should be no room for appeal.

hopefully their takeover falls apart and they go into administration.

Re: Everton Points Deduction
Imagine if Everton end up under 4 points outside the drop zone at the end of the season. I can see a nice court case coming up..

Re: Everton Points Deduction
Surely a second penalty should be more than the first as a repeat offender.
Joke of a league, should have stuck with the punishment otherwise what was the point of giving 10 to begin with.
Luton fans must be fuming.

Re: Everton Points Deduction
I understood the 2nd offence which obviously includes the following season was after they were warned that they were in breach.
Not sure they made any attempt to claw back the losses .... was this the season that they gave in to Onana (& his sisters demands) when we BAULKED at the salary plus sister premium?

Second penalty should be as an unrepentant serial offender. Another 12 points maybe?

6 or 10 points for Forest
And for Chelsea's self confessed payments off the books over multiple seasons ..... 60 points feels about right

Re: Everton Points Deduction
I suspect they will be given a 4 point deduction, for their current charge. The commission that hears that, will be aware of the grounds that led to a partially successful appeal this time and will hopefully not make the same mistakes.
